Hailika’as Heiltsuk Health Centre will be embarking on an ambitious project beginning in April 2008. Accreditation is an 18 month project that hopefully culminates in our programs gaining accreditation from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA).
We will be needing assistance in this endeavor from all people of the community. Several teams will be put together to work on this project, it will be a lengthy process, anybody interested please contact me at extension – 225 at the Health Centre (957-2308).
An educational/information program will be given by CCHSA in April if any persons wanting to be involved will be invited.
This is a very exciting time for us and will put us among the very few aboriginal programs in Canada that can prove their excellence in care.
I would like to thank all the people of Bella Bella who have made me feel so welcome in the 2 months I have been here and I hope to be amongst you for a long time.
